at least you guys HAVE pawn shops, we have the dreaded Cash Converters, overpriced tatty guitars and even more overpriced tatty mobile phones are their staple.

I was actually referring to my local Cash converters Very Happy

But I did grab 2 nice guitars for a nice price in there. You do have to ALWAYS negotiate the price of their instruments there, otherwise you can forget getting a good deal.

true, I got them to knock £40 off the price of my washburn rs10v, but it depends on the shop assistant, the girl I was trying to negotiate with regarding the westone challenger just would not budge on price...wouldnt even fetch the manager for me!

Silly little brat that girl! Razz

Got them to knock around 120$ off my dim IV. Also got them to lower that aforementioned fernandes to 900, but my offer is 300 tops (which I think is honest actually), so no zone of possible agreement on that one.

My local pawn shops are typical for now days. they loan out a very small amopunt then when they go to sell any brand guitar they want full retail or more. Profit is one thing but robbery is another. They also never budge on the prices thus they tend to keep a large amount of guitars and items in stock for long periods of time.
