Trem arms or whammy bar

Hey guys I need a little help here...Could anyone on our Forum tell me the True Diameter of the (black) trem arm that came, originally equipped, on the FT style Tremelos as found on Dimension IV or Dynasty models. Also...has anyone on the Forum ever replaced one of these trem arms with non-Westone trem arms with any, (correction), with 100% success and a good tight fit? Please don't bother mentioning Black Dog because I ordered several 6 mm units from Black Dog out Of England a few months back...and received 5 mm units instead. Return shipping charges forced me to keep the unwanted trem arms. As with everyone on this Forum, my options are to either try other Asian brand trem arms (Squier, Ibanez, Kramer, etc.),which so far, none of these have fit, or have them made from scratch. Any suggestions or facts will be most helpful. Thanks...Rebuild.

Mate, Stewmac have 'em as "Bar, 6mm, imported" and they fit a treat. Now, when you say a tight fit, what do you mean? Because they won't wind in far enough to tighten in the sustain block; the FT on my Spectrum LX has a small grubb screw in the arm collar which will lock the bar into whatever position you please, though I tend to leave mine swinging because I don't like the hassle of tightening and loosening them onstage.

Thanx tons corsair!!! I viewed their website, checked out the photos and info...and these trem arms look like they should do the trick perfectly. Not working tomorrow so I shall call them 1st thing in the morning and get my order in. Yes, my Westones have the additional nut/screw located on the trem unit too...and like you, I prefer to have the arm able to swing somewhat freely. But I like the tight fit in the block itself as I tend to pull up on the whammy almost as much as I push down on them. Never have damaged anything besides the string claws, but I have aquired several used Westones over the past 18 months or so and of course the arms are missing. Again, thanks so much corsair. I would have thought if 'Black Dog' sent the wrong ones they'd pay the return shipping.

I don't know why I've never twigged to this before, but Guitar Fetish also offers a variety of trem arms, including the 6mm screw in type:

I'm always looking at their pickups and other related stuff, but hadn't considered the arms until today. Cheaper than StewMac too!

I use the GFS arm and it works fine on my dimension IV. Didn't have to change anything to the arm. Very happy

so i have the same tremolo on my westone as the one pictured in your link, i'm missing the screw that the whammy bar thread into, do any of those pictured there have the right nut to thread into or do you have to get it separate from the whammy bar?
