Though I'd put this up for all to have a peep at.
Don't worry the radiator IS on..
The neck pickup is shot. It's half a h/bucker bobbin with slug magnets.
Plays and sounds fine. That is some neck plate eh. Plus Barry's favorite bridge, which on this I will modify to make it a bridge base string anchor as opposed to rear lip on the bidge. This one does rattle and is unstable on the grubscrews.

Looks kinda interesting Damian.
Someone doing a little 'drill bit routing' then? Fortunately you don't see it.
Yeah lose that ^%$#*& bridge!!

Re: S D CURLEE Hondo
Yes that drill bit routing is a bit sad, the whole neck was sitting up on all the wood shavings. That is what it looked like as I removed it. Think I'll clean it up a bit.
Secound thoughts Barry, I will replace the bridge if I can find one to fit on the end of the neck or screw into the neck and body at the same time.
It's a bit like a travel guitar with a big 'wing'...

Re: S D CURLEE Hondo
That really is a strange positioning for a bridge!
Assuming you won't be removing the neck too often why not have a look at something like the GE Smith Tele bridge
Should have the same spacing and should cover up that area nicely. And you'll keep the "vibe" of the barrel saddle but without the hassles.

Wow, thats pretty cool, thanks for sharing. That is a crazy neck pocket, i've never seen one so deep! Almost like a neck thru bolt on. Do you think that pickup routing is original? Looks like some drilling i have done as a carpenter, it ain't pretty! Alot of these old Hondos had US made DiMarzios in them, mostly the Japanese made ones from what i've seen.
