What kind of Westone is this?
I decided to take a look at what Westones were on eBay and came across this unusual bass. It has an Electra-Westone headstock, so is it an Electra model perhaps? Or did someone swap their Westone's neck with whatever was on this thing? The tuning heads certainly aren't what you'd find on a normal Westone.

It's an X700 Futura bass from the mid 80's when Electra and Westone were doing stuff together.

I'd like it but our dollar is worth about 2 cabbages on the market at the moment...

I'd like it myself, but I don't have $250 to throw down. But hey, you're moving up to Canada right? The Canadian dollar is stronger than it's ever been, last I checked. Better than ours.

Re: What kind of Westone is this?
Warrn,
Believe it or not, technically I still own one just like that one. It was the first bass that I purchased myself. A buddy of mine was in a bind and I lent it to him to complete a few gigs. That was quite a while ago and every time that I would see him, we discuss getting it back to me. Unfortunately, he suffered a pretty severe stroke and he's prone to forgetting conversations. His wife says he still picks around on it and it seems to help his motor skills, so I haven't worried about it that much. It looks cool and plays ok, but it's so heavy, it's like wearing an anchor around your neck. It's an extremely solid guitar. When they built these basses, they were produced under the Electra name.

Ooh, that's nice!
It kind of looks a bit like the Aria Urchin and the Quest guitar!
Are you going to have a bid on it Kevin?

Unfortunately it's buy it now only, and I don't have $250 to spare. Otherwise I'd shoot for it. There was a nice black/gold Raider bass that I missed for the same reason.
