Thunder IA 82 vs 83 controls

Dear All

Sorry but I have another (quite possibly stupid) question - I just noticed that my controls on my 82 Thunder 1A seem different from my late 83 version.

The 82 pots seem to be volume/EQ/gain and my 83 volume/tone(I think)/EQ - in those orders - is that a genuine difference in spec or is there something wrong ?

I only noticed because when in active mode the gain on the 82 has to be turned up or there is no volume - on the 83 model the knob seems to be simply a tone although to my ear it does not seem to change the tone much. All the pots look original

I had this problem, it was because someone had replaced the capacitor on the gain with a piece of wire! I soldered a capacitor on and it works perfectly now.

chaypup, This is a completely different kettle of fish to your Thunder III Bass.

Just not to get the two confused
