I was looking up some info on capacitors, trebel bleeds, potentiometers, pick up wiring...that sort of thing, and I found this terrific series of video tapes by JohnPlanetZ. As I write this there are 35 in the series and they're well presented, clearly written and shot in HD to boot.

Since these topics pop up fairly frequently, I thought this might be a useful refresher for the "pros" and a good tutorial for those attempting these things for the first time:

There is also an information packed web site at:

Both resources highly recommended!

I've been using the schematics (picto-grams really) on the Seymour Duncan website for years - they're good. But of course they do not replicate specific Westone circuits.

Nice no nonsense video Barry thanks, for the not to adventures I've used Servisol Super 10 switch cleaner, with the applicator tube, blast into a gap in the pot casing or, & as well as, down the shaft. I find it has cured the snap crackle & pop in several pots. Particularly a Krap practise amp, sorry, Park practise amp that had been lying around for a long time, couldn't touch the gain knobs without it making a dreadful noise, after the treatment its as good as new without taking it to pieces. It doesn't stain, I've used its with the applicator tube pointed in the general direction of pots through the F hole of a semi acoustic with success Very Happy
