Re: What's that guitar ?
If that's the one in your avatar, Rico, it looks like a X185; Spectrum GT, or an X198 Spectrum LX which has been stripped back as they were available in solid colours only.
The knobs are non-OEM as well...
Welcome here, and feel free to sgare as many pix as you feel up to showing us... we like pix!!

Re: What's that guitar ?
Thanks for your response, another guy say me it may be a Westone Spectrum model FX ? I have that westone since 15 years and there's no model numbre (erase on the head doll) or other mark to find the real model. Just a "W" behind the mécanics. I think tjat westone will be black, because inside the body, there's a lot of black paint.

If it has a set neck then it is an FX. But if it is a bolt-on neck then it is NOT an FX.

Re: What's that guitar ?
I'm leaning towards a GT because of the jack socket; on the LX/FX it is on the side of the body!!

Re: What's that guitar ?
Effectively, the model Westone Spectrum GT ( X185) is similar as like as two peas in a pod. It is necessary it's a pity to have no serial number because it was sanded at the same time as the rest of the guitar. It's true that without cover of paint, the guitar has a good head !
I just have a part of the tremolo which is broken ( attached photo) and I don't know if I could find it to change it or acquire the set on the net !

Re: What's that guitar ?
Well; that's me called a liar; with the Bendmaster FT and the set neck, it's an X199 (FX), and some of them did have the jack on the face of the guitar! Slap me silly...
OK; that string claw is problematic in that it is specific to that bridge, and no other. Simple as that. You have some choices, though; 1. Use it a la Keith Richards - he only uses the top 5 strings!, 2. wait and try to find a beat up Spectrum LX, FX or SX so that you can get a claw, 3. get a piece of steel and file up your own, 4. get a gunsmith to make you one (really really expensive!!) and 5. whack on an after-market bridge.
Good luck, man.. oh, you could always do the rounds of the music stores in your area, and have a rummage through their spares boxes; worked for me for exactly this part!!

Re: What's that guitar ?
Hi Rico,
a bit late, but I just joined the forum today.
I'm pretty certain that's a MK1 FX (these are identical to the Electra X199) - which would between 1984 but before Feb 1986 by which time the MK2's were in production.
The FX was the only Spectrum in the series with the built-in neck (typical of Matsumoku's 'tier 2' medium quality guitars) and were the top of the Spectrum range - all the other Spectrums (X198 and lower) were Matsumoku 'tier 1' (mass produced, bolt-on necks).
The MK1 has 'stepped' built-in neck, front mounted jack, angular control cavity cover, Bendmaster FT trem - (I don't know what the pick-ups were, maybe MMK45's).
The MK2 (Feb '86) - 'stepped' built-in neck, Bendmaster FT trem - the p/u's are MMK45 hb's + Magnaflux IV single.
- changed to jack on side.
- changed to semi circular control cavity cover.
The MK3 - 'stepped' built-in neck, Bendmaster FT trem, jack on side, semi circular control cavity cover.
- changed to UBC p/u's.
The MK4 (April '86) - jack on side, semi circular control cavity cover, UBC p/u's
- changed to Bendmaster Deluxe trem.
- changed the built-in neck join to "heelless" (normally on Matsumoku's 'tier 3' highest quality thru-neck guitars).
if anyone can add, confirm, deny, please do
hope that helps
