£500 of sweetness? I think I'll stick saccharin at that price, as nice as it is. It remains to be seen whether he'll achieve that price in this climate and Xmas around the corner, but you cant blame him for trying.

For a guitar of that standard IT's worth it. If that had gibson on it , that'd be 4 times the price and there's nothing between them. if that had Aria on it same thing, same factory, different name on headstock. Sweet as. Smile

Yeah; Rainbows're pretty good, Steve - they certainly command the high prices!! Personally, I don't like 'em... unless it's white..... Laughing

Ah ,,, I didnt actually say it wasn't worth it .... it might be worth it to somebody. And yes, it probably plays as well as any similar Gibbo. But are Gibbos selling? Most of the 335 sales on ebay ( inc clones ) are around the £150 -£250 mark. Just taking a rough view of real 335 sales, only 1 or 2 in 10 were sold. In this financial climate and the expense of Crimble just around the corner, starting off at £500 is ... well ... errr ....a bit optimistic! I would of pitched a start price at £250-£300 to get it going.

I'm probably being miserly ..... I have 4 Westones ( Thunder 1a and 2a, Dim 4 and a Genesis ) and the most I've paid is ...... £80. And ... they're all mint apart from the Dim which has pointy guitar disease.

The moths complain of cold if the wallet is open too long!

Talk about moths, you'll need a sack full.
Don't like the back of the headstock.

It likely sounds wonderful, but I think if you're gonna make a guitar outa bits and pieces, ya really should even out the look with a proper finish.
I don't think there's aesthetic value in having a git that looks like Frankenstein's monster, vintage or not.
I say this as the proud owner of a: Gibson ES330 with a tobacco sunburst finish

Yeah, thats nice, what those P90's like cranked up.
I do like a tobacco sunburst, I've a Session II in maple(lovely guitar) but I want an Antique burst one, just like the one on ebay usa at the mo. I've asked him and he will ship outside the U.S.
