Saddle screws for Thunder II
Hi there - first post so please excuse any ignorance on my part
I have recently acquired a Thunder II that's in need of a little TLC.
I need to find some replacement screws for a couple of the bridge saddles - does anyone have any idea where I can find these in the UK? - I've tried several local music stores (Cardiff) without any success.
Any help would be appreciated

Re: Saddle screws for Thunder II
Hi JoMo and welcome,
The thunder 2 ( amongst other Westones ) has a long travel bridge so I would doubt whether any music shop would have them. Even the bridges are hard to come by.
Secondly, I would take one screw as a sample to fastener stockist in your area to see if they have anything similar on their shelves. I would be very surprised if they didnt have something very close, in which case, I would buy 6, and replace all of the OE screws so that they match. That should get you out of this fix. Hang on to the remaining OE screws ... you never know what will turn up in the future.

Thanks Steve
There are a couple of hardware shops in central Cardiff so i'll give those a try.

Re: Saddle screws for Thunder II
If these are the wee allen headed grubb screws, then a specialist nuts, bolts and screws type dealer is the answer and there's bound to be one of those in Cardiff, surely?!

Re: Saddle screws for Thunder II
I bought some of these on eBay for my Westone/Washburn basses. I took an educated guess and 'metric thread, 10mm long' did the job.
I just had a quick fit and they fit my Thunder 1T guitar, too.

Saddle screws for Thunder II
Hi All
I should have pointed out that the Thunder II has a fixed bridge.
I managed to get some M3 Slotted Pan Head Bolts - the diameter and thread fitted the bridge saddles perfectly - the originals are 15mm long so I bought 1pk of 10x12mm and 1pk of 10x25mm - if the 12mm are too short I can just grind down the 25mm ones with a Dremel.
Oh - they cost me the shocking total of £1.25 for a pack of 10 (including nuts!)
Thanks for all your help
