I'm really starting to like this colour!
Don't see it very often.

Love the colour... like something out of the sales brochure for a 60's Olds 88... calling that lime green is like labelling Rory Gallagher's "Going to my Hometown" as deathmetal.

That's a pastel shade of green, not nearly saturated enough to be lime.

Shoot me down if you want but I was looking at the pics of the of the guitar, could it be a light blue that's aged?
In the photo's it looks patchy and uneven and I'm thinking that maybe they've tried new finish but the colour has been unstable for whatever reason and stopped using it?
I've checked the catalogues before for this paint but there is no mention of it anywhere, there is a "SUNNY BLUE" in the 82/83 catalogue but this looks like a brighter and more intense blue to my eye's.
Could they be the same colour . Just a thought.
DAN.

On a second closer look I think you're right Dan, she was built as a blue bass.
Originally I didn't look at all the pix since I wasn't that interested, not being a bass player. But the back shots definitely show as blue, and that one shot of the top with the blue showing through the scuff pretty much confirms it.
The question now is, are we looking at a repaint or a faded finish? Since the head stock still has the logo it makes sense that this is a faded blue we're looking at. Probably has been sitting in a fixed position exposed to sunlight, music shop window perhaps??

I've seen seen three or four of these with this colour over the last year on Fleabay, all Concords, and they all have the same mint ice cream (...hmmm ice cream!) hue to them. I can only think that the paint pigment or a clear coat if used, are sensitive to UV light.
I know Fender had paint problems with the 25th Anniversary Strat in 1979. The first 500 or so made were finished in a beautiful pearl white but the paint was fragile and on some guitars quickly started to show signs of weather checking, in the worst cases it peeled off!
They switched to a new silver finish (a Porsche colour) for the rest of the production run. Over the years the silver painted Strats have turned yellow and some have even gone green
Depending on the condition pearl white versions are worth a small fortune now, due to their rarity.

cool...
Anyway, I'd love to pick up one of those Mats basses. My lack of skills on the bass provides no inhibition to this irrational urge.
