Rik Emmett 12 String
I've wondered about this guitar Rik Emmett plays
in a live version of the song Magic Power for a long
time. It is a 12 string, single neck guitar and I am
pretty sure it is a Westone but I have never seen
another one like it. I really like the tone he gets when
he goes from acoustic to electric with it. This isn't the
same as the Westone Thunder guitars I have seen.
This guitar is a double cutaway. Unfortunately Triumph
has never released an HD version of this concert.
The only footage is pretty low res. Here is a link to
the Youtube video along with a couple of images
that I pulled from the video:

Re: Rik Emmett 12 String
Looks very much to me like it could be a Matsumoku made Vantage VA912 12 string:
LINK
That would kinda fit since Triumph was a Canadian band and Vantage guitars were very heavily marketed in Canada.

Yeah, I did a search and it looks to be the same guitar.
I've wondered for years about the make of that guitar.
Thanks for solving it for me.

Re: Rik Emmett 12 String
Glad I could help.
The Vantage line is well worth buying. Well made, solid and reliable Mats quality.

Or it could possibly be a Thunder 3. I was told there were 25 made but I’m not sure how true that is.

Re: Rik Emmett 12 String
Virtually the same guitar.
The 12 string would have been a custom build and as I said above my money would be on the Vantage label because of the Canadian connection.
