Birthdays...
I see that it's David Blairs' birthday today, and while we don't really do birthdays in here, I did stop and quietly thank the man for his resource and research; without it, we'd have had a hard road to hoe!!
Regardless of any personal feelings you blokes might have about him, he did sterling work, and went out on a limb with the spares a long time ago...

Re: Birthdays...
No way. That's a strange coincidence my own name is David Blair and I was born on the 14th April. Apart from my father and Granda I've never heard of another
DB. And this one played Westones too.

Re: Birthdays...
Had the pleasure of meeting him a few times, bloody nice bloke he is, happy birthday Mr Blair!
Would like to be able to get back in touch with him again, tried a few times from the pm feature of this forum but to no avail.
Oh and the white Spectrum ST I bought from him (for a bloody good price too!) is still going strong, especially as I just installed a pair of Entwistle Dark Stars :-D

Re: Birthdays...
Great, 'specially at the bridge, get them in man!
quite a dark pup, but they distort really well, and with the light maple body of the ST its a nice medium.
EDIT:
with the coil cut they have a lovely zing about them, suprisingly strat-like. I'd get these again no question.

Re: Birthdays...
so is that pretty much the norm? a hollow body makes a pickup a little darker sounding, or are we still defined by the wood type?
