Yep.
The Wilkinson's were an experiment for me, and they're pretty good (and cheap!) But overall I still prefer the GFS Crunchy Pat's as a better match for the MMK45's, particularly the neck.

Hey, just about anything is better than those silly UBC's, eh!

The rumour has it that "some" UBC's were made from MMK45's. AFAIK to date though, none have surfaced. Slapping a meter on them is the only reliable way to know whatchergot.

One thing you could do with those crappy UBC's is to wind one coil with a load more turns to beef it up.

I've taken a knackered one apart and there's just a tiny bit of wire on them. Loads of space to wind more on.
Just join the wire and keep winding 'till it's full. Worth an experiment???? A true UBC.

Second thoughts just buy a new set.... Laughing  seeing as these pups were budget but are the same bobbins as MMK.s

Alnico v has more bite than Alnico II. A lot of old Gibson PAF's are Alnico II so are MMK 75's. As sweet as syrup... Smile .  Don't get your Alnico's in a twist... Wink

I don't think I should have mentioned the fact that they were for sale on Gumtree....why?....I have no idea.

Apparently I should 'mind my own business'.....jeez, was only trying to help with the sale....how are you supposed to sell owt if you don't want anybody to know they are for sale.
