I NEED this, but...
We all have our wants and needs, for example I want a Thunder II...but i NEED one of these, to my eye, this track 4 is about as good as it gets.
It's by no means the best player out there but boy does it look good...

However, it is covered in lacquer cracks and someone has made a right pigs ear of fitting a bridge at some point.
My question is, are these things surmountable or is the damage just too bad?
I might just have to let this one pass and wait for the next one...

Re: I NEED this, but...
That's a right mess isn't it. Seen much better one's out there. Think he's asking way too much for that mess of a bass.
Those bridges are prone to cracking in the middle and then bow up as you tune it, causing all types of problems with the action.
Now do you notice a bar that the strings pass through at the rear of the bridge. This bridge was cracked and this mod stops the bridge pulling up. Called a sustain bar...
Had this Track two, they have seriously wide necks, a right hand full.

I have a Track 2 and you're right they ain't no Jazz bass , but I kinda like the neck and I reckon that Epiphone have a direct replacement for the bridge.
If you do spot any out there in better nick give us a shout.
Still beautiful though.

Re: I NEED this, but...
Beautiful, certainly. That's why I bought mine but could not get on with that neck. Not light neither for a smallish body. That's Maple for ya! Sold that one on.
Re: I NEED this, but...
Yep, the Epi 3 point bass bridge just drops right in, once had an Epi Eb0 with that bridge, very solid....shame about the bass.
Also had a Vantage bass which came missing that bridge, bought THIS as a replacement, not as good as the Epi, but easily good enough.

Re: I NEED this, but...
Do you think it's really lacquer - like nitrocellulose lacquer? Or do you think it's really poly and he's just using the term 'lacquer'? The cracks would not bother me at all if it's nitro. But if it's poly...
