I like the ST's; I've gigged mine a few times and it is a real tone monster! They may be the base model, or close to it, but they are a lot of guitar for the money, eh, and I'm sure you'll love it! Very Happy

Ha! Another convert (and zealot!!) to the cause!! You're catching up with me in numbers, too - I've got 2 x Clipper CL4112s, a Spectrum GT, a GT bass, an ST, and a Genesis II XA1630 BUT I've also got a Vantage VA900 and an Electra Phoenix X195 which are both also from the Matsumoku family!
I don't play out much anymore but when I do, it's my latest Clipper that comes out with me, or the ST. They are a very versatile guitar and whilst necessarily tonally limited, they certainly will do everything I ask from them!! I can even get the strat quack happening with a little effort!!

ahhh,, i have a 1972 matsumoku epiphone FT-147 acoustic (according to the matsumoku site) and a 1981 ibanez iceman that appraisers have sworn to me was matsumoku.. though fuji-gen has also been mentioned.. it is way way rare anyways.. cant even find it on the ibanez sites as it has supertuner II's and no binding and royal blue.. closest they can come is 1981 IC50RB.. but it isnt.. lol.. it is a 1981 though.. if it was a IC50RB it was 1 of 124 made.. cooly enough it is even more rare than that.. i have been playing westones since 1985 when i got my first one (1985 Spectrum SX) in cookeville tennessee.. i got it for $80 and the promise to mention cookeville music store a few times a show and distribute business cards if requested.. got free crate amps and mics and stuff too.. i was a rockstar in the southern usa in the 80's and early 90's.. now i am a country star in kansas.. aka retired rockstar.. lol.. not bragging.. just stating facts.. lol

Cool!! I've been on a Matsumoku since I bought my Vantage in 1980 in Australia... and I'm not a rock star, or even close! Laughing I did, however get thrown out of a band which went on to have a huge no.1 hit here in NZ in the early '80s, only to follow it up with a pathetic tribute to John Lennon, so all things considered, I reckon I dodged a bullet there!! Shocked Do you still have the SX? I fancy an SX/MX in blue but I can wait to go shopping until we get to North America in 2010...
