Wow!

Ron Jeremy and Richie Sambora both on our humble little forum.

Anyway to try to work our way back to the Yamaha topic, I now believe that there are no such things as Faradays, and Faraday's Law has been invented by Grogg to make me (and I suspect others on this forum, Ice?) feel inferior.

In the seventies, none of our guitars had any of this Faraday malarky and we sure don't need any now.

Pretty much anyone could read this and laugh out loud. From guitars to Science to insults to grounded Knights to Ron Jeremy to Fat Gits with nice sun tans to Inferiority complexes... oh man, this is great reading! Informative. study

And as much as I hate to say it, Ice's priceless avatar pic isn't Ron Jeremy, it's some semi-famous guitar player from the 70's who's name was worth forgetting.

I've just finished Ron Jeremy's book and aside from all the salacious stuff, it was a reasonably good read.... lightweight and easy, but not too bad at all!!

And Keef's book is likewise a good read. You tend to think of him as being always totally spaced out, but he has quite a bit of moral fibre including, most of all empathy and loyalty. I ended up liking him quite a lot.

Funnily enough, he never mentions ~~Faradays~~ Groggs or Yamaha SF's

PS For those who haven't read it, he dies in the end. Oops sorry - Hope I haven't spoiled it !!

I read just about anything I can get my hands on and generally have 4 or 5 on the go at any one time. At the moment I'm re-reading a Stephen hunter novel, the workshop manual for my car, Dantes Nine circles of Hell and Don Felders tell-all about the Eagles.

I like biographies and I have to say Ron Jeremy writes very well; he doesn't dwell on what could well become quite puerile, but moves along apace. To bag something without reading it is a little condescending, I feel....

Ah back on topic, shortly, to say that I replaced the broken pot (remember page 1) and the guitar works fine and sounds great. Very pleased with myself right now Very Happy

Neck pick-up is very warm and sounds great IMO. Bridge pick-up is a good deal brighter and therefore gives a nice array of options to this guitar.

Exactly! And I had never really done any soldering before so am very pleased with myself (though it did take me around an hour just to replace a volume pot). My girlfriend had trouble understanding why I was grinning stupidly once the work was done.

Nope... They're as dear as all hell here!! I have a Ford Falcon station wagon, the Australian designed and built one, with the 4.0 litre straight six, auto box and an 80 litre fuel tank!

However, fuel is relatively cheap hereabouts and the distances one has to cover here to get anywhere mean a big lazy engine is the way to go...

This thing took the five of us, all of our bags and general rubbish without blinking and was still capable of doing much better than highway speed limit...

My wife, however, is looking at a new European car, though Alfas are just too dear.... Renault or Peugeot, probably....
