Dynasty (CAN) Empty Dynasty (CAN)

Post by Barry Thu Oct 27, 2011 2:16 pm

This one has been kicking around here locally for awhile but I didn't bother to post it because of the excessive asking price. affraid
Since there appears to be a member or two actively looking for these things, I thought I'd post it now. The seller has finally reduced the price by $50 so perhaps he'll soften his stance eventually. I don't know where he gets the 1980 date from tough, these didn't appear until '84.

He's dreaming, I reckon.... C$750 is a joke, even if it were mint.

Those prices hurt......chancer. If he gets it good luck but that's a big chip in not the usual type place. Expect the leg ends to have a chip or two. Not exactually mint. Like the case, a gig bag Laughing

Mad People like this annoy me, they'll never sell their stuff because their sense of value exists in their overestimation of their posessions. Reminds me of some guys I used to see at the big flea markets, they hold onto these way overpriced objects and act high and mighty about them, pricing them high enough to feel like they're sitting on treasure. Sad, really.

That poor white Dynasty may just sit there till the guy dies. It should be all comfy cozy beside its red sister in my house. Laughing

On closer inspection the switch tip looks like it's missing, don't know about the trem arm.

Basicly a Spectrum with a shaped body. Even though I've a red one it never hardly gets taken out of it's case, just the way it is. Sad

I notice a difference in tone from my FX to my Dynasty. I actually like the Dynasty better, sound wise anyway. All guitars are tonally different, but the shape of the Dynasty (and other Vee's) seems to add something that my ears like better. I'd need to play multiple Spectrums and multiple Dynasty's in order to do a solid test. People talk of Vee guitars having their own sound, and I guess it's true, but my Dynasty packs more of a low punch than my FX does. I don't completely understand the science behind shape vs. sound, but I'd like to.

Interesting.Hadn't seriously thought about the vee shape adding any significant shape to the sound. But then, it is a somewhat like a big tuning fork, so who knows? Maybe it vibrates in a peculiar fashion because of that? scratch
