I've waited 37....
...years to see Rush and tonight I took my 8 year old boy to the gig in Newcastle-upon-Tyne... IT ROCKED WAY HARD!! The wee fella even scored one of Lifesons picks and had a great time playing air guitar to his favourite songs... great night!!

Glad you both enjoyed them.
They're a legendary Canadian band but sorry to say they've never done much for me.

Allright Corsair! Glad to hear our next generation is being nudged in the correct direction.
A healthy mix of classic and new songs then?? I realize this is a guitar forum but I must confess that one of my top 5 musicians of all time is from that band.....
Neil Peart.

Re: I've waited 37....
I would have to agree with Corsair. I was fortunate to see Rush in 1977 and during this tour at Glasgow SECC and although the venue isn’t the best for sound quality the band certainly made up for it by faultless playing and breathtaking visuals. Unlike the Clapton gig I saw three day previously at the same venue. I’ve never been so bored in my life. He uttered about four words to the crowd during the two hours of playing. His playing was faultless but in a more robotic, done this to death for the last 40 years, manner. I came away really disappointed.

37 years? that's a long time with no Rush. I've probably seen them about 37 times since 84. I'm still waiting for Alex to get sick dring a show and ask for a volunteer to finish the gig for him

That's great Corsair, what a wonderful memory to make with him. He'll remember that forever, may even further spark a musical gift the Lord's placed inside of him.

Thanks for the link Fish. Like a certain musician or no, it is hard not to respect a player who despite all their success continues to search out new challenges or playing styles. Neil is one I will always respect just for that reason alone. Instead of resting on his laurels he continues to experiment and look for opportunities to stretch himself and his abilities.
