Re: Anyone....
Well I was as I live in Coventry but at that price (or the price it will end at), I can get a far superior case else where and cheaper. I'd sooner put the money towards a "tar" that I want than an old Westone case that I cant play.

Re: Anyone....
will be interesting to see what this case goes for..... I have the same case and have been tempted to sell to help towards another Westone, and as Steve says "you can't play a case"......these Westone cases are as collectable as guitars, but to protect them you need a bigger case to keep your Westone case in!

Where can you get a superior case cheaper, please?

Re: Anyone....
I am watching AND very interested in discussing buying the case, bowenjaybee. I have a standard case for my Thunder, but would like on original case. I will pm!
Are you guys bidding, because I don't want to be fighting with anyone unnecessarily!

You probably don't mean me, but just in case I'll say that I won't be bidding.

Re: Anyone....
Just FYI, I am going to bid on this auction, so if anyone who is already bidding (there are two bidders at the moment) is on this site, let me know, and I won't fight you!

Re: Anyone....
So... £44+£8 P&P...
A little more expensive than my brand new basic flight case, but is for the Thunder and has a Westone logo on it... Will post pics when the 'Lady' has been placed in her resting place!

Re: Anyone....
As promised, photos of 'the Lady' in her rightful place...
I have described elsewhere my 'findings' about the case. Some might say 'disappointments', but I find that it might be unreasonable to expect a case created for a 1983 guitar to equal a mass produced off the shelf guitar case from 2010. Does my Triumph Herald hold a candle to my Triumph Speed Triple? Not a chance! Prices are immaterial for the right item, at the right time, in the right place.
That logo!
The full view of the case, and its lustrous 'russet' or 'rosewood' colour
'the Lady' in her rightful place
A close up, so that you can appreciate the similarity of the case outer cover and the colour of the fretboard. Not identical, but close enough to make me feel happy!
Are there Westone guitar straps available? Or guitar stands? Or just plain stickers? I cannot think what else I need to complete this...? Anyone...?

Re: Anyone....
Yes, there were some straps - take a look at the magazine adverts which feature Status Quo.... However, our very own Polly made some to order about 2 years ago, and very nice they were too!!

Re: Anyone....
The original ones were made of car seat belt type material and measure 2" across, yours would have been white to match your guitar.
Here's the one that came with my red Dynasty.

You seem very happy indeed with your new case and rightly so.
one thing that bugs me about these cases is the way the bottom of the handle is joined to the case, it is at a funny angle and has caused mine to split
The top is nice and straight
But the bottom is at a dodgy angle and has caused it to split
I thought it was just my case but yours is at the same angle, luckily yours doesn't look to have split (hope you don't mind me using your pic)
maybe a bad design?.....Has anyone else had this splitting problem on their Westone case handles??

Re: Anyone....
Gee.. that's a nice wee catch there, Westbone; good colour, too!! Does it have the logo on it somewhere?
Polly's were a high class strap that she sewed the logo and the name on... and in my case - to feed my rapacious ego - my name as well!! There's the black and the white one in here...
...see my name on there?? and the black one here...

Re: Anyone....
Of course not!bowenjaybee wrote: (hope you don't mind me using your pic)
Thanks for the heads up. My thought is that I agree with you that it IS a bad design (my product design training, kicking in). My initial thoughts to solve it would be to bend the 'forks' of the pivot up towards the head of the guitar, but this may not either be possible or do anything by break the case (I am away from the case, at the moment).bowenjaybee wrote: maybe a bad design?.....Has anyone else had this splitting problem on their Westone case handles??
I am thinking that I am more likely to only store the guitar in this case, but take it to gigs in my new contemporary case, so carrying it is less likely. Your heads up has increased that possibility

Re: Anyone....
Interesting and got me looking at my Prestige case. Obviously a design flaw that was overcome as shown in the following photos:-
So longer bent bit holding the strap with a spacer of some sort required.

Re: Anyone....
Geez, this has made me go look at my Thunder case too and, yep, same stoopid angle:
Must have been designed by the same nimrod who made the lovely barrel saddle bridge that's on the guitar inside the case!

Re: Anyone....
Mine doesn't look quite that nice...yet.
I have to give her the 'ole elbow grease followed by liberal amounts of Amour All to restore the shine!
'Course now I have to worry about the damn handle splitting and dropping the Thunder on its little arse!
