Not bad at all.
Ya know, every time I see these versions with the coloured wings I find myself fantasizing about tinting my '81 "natural" wood finish.
Has anyone done this, he wondered allowed? The headstock would be problematic however. Hmmm... Rolling Eyes

I have a Thunder 1 in the same colour as this one, unfortunately mine is currently collecting dust in my guitar graveyard waiting for a miracle to restore it!

I want to re-finish mine in the original clear red and I might have to paint the headstock to match, that means sorting out a new logo No.

I do think the red and natural finish looks good against the brass hardware.

I've got to get mine up and running someday.........when pigs fly! Rolling Eyes

I remember that one Dan.
I already have several red guitars, but you're right about the contrast between the natural wood/brass and the trans red. Something really nice about that. Closest I have is a red Vantage Avenger with a (brighter?) red trans finish and brass hardware...including that F^&*%$G barrel saddle bridge!!!
