My Westone Spectrum ST Recording Online
Hi all.
I have just released my old band's only studio recording that we did in 1989 and 1991.
It's a long story which is explained on my new tribute web site at http://getback.barryeames.com
I had two good Strat lead players so I didn't get much of a workout (just as well!) but I'm in there too, mostly on rhythm and intros, playing either my trusty Spectrum ST, the Gibson ES-330 or the Ovation 1983 Collectors Edition.
It was fun at the time. Hope you get a kick out of it too!

Hey Barry,
Well done there mate, some super stuff!
I was hoping to see a video or two as well but a girl can't have everything I suppose! Now that's what I call music, none of this ear splitting, thrash metal stuff for my delicate lug holes! Nice work!

Thanks Polly, glad you liked it! Much appreciated.
Kinda scary to listen to yerself of some 20 years ago though, I thought I was an old fart then at 44 or so!
If I'd known I was gonna live this long I would have taken much better care of myself...nah!

Pictures too!
GetbacK band web site update:
For those who might be interested or curious, I found a few photographs of me and some of the boys on a 1991 gig. I managed to get the scanner working on the old laptop et vôilà...19 years younger again !

In case you can't identify it, that`s my `85 Westone Spectrum ST, and `64 Gibson ES330...
...surrounded by a sea of Fenders!

Re: My Westone Spectrum ST Recording Online
Good work. lad; that's a great site, Barry - I wish I had the know how to do that!! I have a recording of covers that my outfit did in 1985 when I was a pup of 32-ish... and that set of recordings has a Vantage VA900 and a Westone ST Bass!! The only photos are pretty mingy, though....
...this is 2005, at a birthday party; not a Westone I Know, but my Vantage is a Matt!!
...god, was I ever that young! (32) Alan, on my right, is playing a 60's NZ made guitar called a Jansen, and along with my VA900 and Hugh's bass, we sounded like no other band on the circuit with all of their Fenders etc!!

Ah, there's good rockin' tonight!!
Great to see that you were still able to sit up and take nourishment.
And no, we were never that young.

Re: My Westone Spectrum ST Recording Online
HAPPY 2010 EVERYBODY!!!!!!
Thank you Barry for sharing that with us, I love the photos!
Hey up John, pretty nifty pics of you too!
There's an idea, I think we ought to create some sort of photo album in the Members Westone forum of all you guys and your old/not so old, band photos (playing your Westones/Matts, of course!). How about it guys?
Somebody start the ball rolling, title the thread something like Uncle Matts Muso's or whatever... you know the sort of thing! Put your photos up with details of the band name/dates/venues etc.,
Come on chaps, I want to see what you all looked like wearing your lycra suits, frilly shirts and tight leather jeans! Hee hee
(I could do with a good laugh after being stuck indoors with all this snow we've got here at the minute! )

Re: My Westone Spectrum ST Recording Online
I can certainly share pictures and videos of my Westones and Electra in action, but they'll all only be from the past few months, so no embarrassing clothing choices for me to worry about.

RIP "Mickey"
This is an overdue update about one of my former lead guitar players in the '89-'91 version of the GetbacK band, "Mickey" Wiseman.
Mick died in late January of Cancer at the age of 57. It was his second encounter with this damnable disease in 8 years.
He beat it the first time, but this time around the bone marrow transplant didn't take.
He was a remarkable human being, warm, caring, intelligent, and a hell of a guitar player. Glenn and I were about to contact our old band members for a reunion gig, but that won't happen now; wouldn't really be the same without him.
Miss ya Mick:
Mickey Wiseman
