Hello all! I´m new here and this is my first post after I have been joining the Westone community by getting my hands on a black Spectrum 2. However I can´t see anything that confirms where this guitar is made, no serial number anywhere. The seller told me it is from a year 1987. Maybe some of you can tell me something about it... Someone has changed the bridge at least. A few pics attached.series - Origins of this Westone Spectrum Series 2 20221112

The scarf joint at the neck would indicate that you have a Made in Korea model SP1012
build, so that would mean it was produced later than 1987.

The 1988 models may be laminates rather than solid wood.
Models that originally had the Bendmaster Deluxe trem were later (88/89?) fitted with the TRS-101 made by Takeuchi of Japan.

Specs

   neck: hard rock Maple
   fingerboard: Rosewood
   25.5 inch scale
   22 frets
pickups: Ferrite single coil (Neck) and humbucker (Bridge)
   master volume and tone controls
2-way mini switch (Neck pickup) and 3-way mini switch (Bridge pickup)
   standard trem system

Here's a link to our website and a Forum member's beautiful white SP1012: LINK

I feel this could've been the same model as my first guitar, but a reversed headstock. Very cool though!

Yep, as Barry has said, a Spectrum Series II SP1012, MIK, about 87/88.
I’m pretty sure mine is plywood and is thus as heavy as the Moon, but it really is a beautiful guitar to play! Mine has the Bendmaster Deluxe bridge and stringlock - I can’t see what your bridge is, but you do have the BD stringlock, missing the bolts, shims and locking pieces.
Mine doesn’t have the string bar behind the stringlock; doesn’t have the holes for one, either; not sure that’s OEM! 🙂
I swapped the OEM bridge pickup on mine for an MMK45, which has made quite the difference in sound quality and quantity!
You’ve worked out that the switches are on/off for the s/c, and single coil/off/two coils for the bridge pickup, yes?

Anyway, I like mine just fine; enjoy the hell out of yours!!
