3-way switch replacement/repair?
Hello all..
I'm sure there's a thread I'll locate soon after I post this.. but I'm looking for the best possible option to replace my 3-way switch, or possibly just the tip, on a Spectrum GT.
Any subtle push in the right direction would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance..
Dave.

Re: 3-way switch replacement/repair?
Hi there, looks like nobody has bothered to respond to your post. Sorry about that.
Is the switch itself working and it's just the tip you're missing?
There's no real magic in replacing the switch, a standard one will work just fine. The difference is that the original has the contact area 'boxed' in (semi sealed) and is very smooth operating compared to the stiffer 'clunk' that you normally experience.
The tip however is a proprietary shape: it's conical instead of a baseball bat configuration.
You might send a DM to forum member Westbone. He used to have some some replacement parts and may be able to help you.
If not, a standard tip should fit IIRC.

Thanks for your reply..
Yeah, I was hoping to find an OEM one and maybe I'll try reaching out to westbone, but I do have a Switchcraft in hand which will do the trick.
She's only my gig machine anyway.. an 85 Spectrum GT

You're welcome.
Here's a write up on the website about something similar I did to my Spectrum S which may help a bit: LINK
