Re: Say hello...
Yes please, start a new thread under Members' Westones, this space is just for introductions really.Robaxeman wrote:... Perhaps I should start a new thread for that.
As I am soon to retire this will become a project for me...fix it up, clean it up and then play the bejeezus out of it!
I'm sure the members here will help with any questions you have with your "project".
Re: Say hello...
Hi.
New member - long time fan.
My Westone story - in short - It was 1994and our highschool band just godt permission to play for the whole school. Exited as my 18 year old self was, i skipped the next class and went straight to the local guitar store and bought a a guitar that i had starred at so many times.. A westone Dynasty in cremewhite with red pinstribing.. we rocked that school, loud and proud... a couple of years later i decided in my stupidious youth to sand down the finish and paint it black and purple.. poor job but i loved it nonetheless.. a few years later i sold it.. Many times i have thought about that guitar and wished that i never sold it.(or painted it :-) ). As fortune may have it, a Dynasty came up for sale on facebook marketplace - an hour from where i live in Denmark... stripped from paint in naked wooden finish.. could it be? i contacted the seller and told him my story.. i cried when he said that there was remains of purple paint in the cavities... a week ago i bought my old guitar back.. or whats left of it.. but that will get sorted.. hope to catch a lot of information from this forum.. thx

Re: Say hello...
Hi Dennis and welcome! What a happy story!
The chances of reuniting with an old guitar are very slim, but we have heard a story or two over the years from members who have been lucky enough to have that happen.
She looks to be in decent condition too.
We love a good resto story here so please, when you're ready, start a new post in the Members' Westones forum and keep us in the loop as to how your project is going.

Awesome! I hope to reconnect with my first Westie someday. Can't wait to see the progress you make on it!
