i've recently dug out my father's old electric guitar and have decided to redo it, which includes changing the pickups. The guitar is a 1983 Westone Concord H-II. However, after hours of searching, I have not been able to find a wiring diagram for this guitar, not even on Westone's website. I've seen multiple other Westone models' diagrams, but never the exact model I'm looking for. Has anybody owned one of these guitars, or know of a wiring diagram that could help?

I would be cautious about replacing the pickups. The originals are probably Maxon MMKs of some description. Take a look on ebay, these are advertised at around $100 each. For the same money, you probably won't get better.  Even if they are broken, you can get them re-wound for a lot less than the cost of a new pickup and it would be worth it.

According to the website portion of this site, you should have dual push pulls for coil split and switches for phase switch.

Hello Jack and welcome.

My question would be, "What's wrong with the original pups and wiring?" If something is not working, it's likely a poor solder connection or corrosion which can often be corrected with electronic spray.

If you look at the back plate of the pickups you should see MMK45 stamped in black. That's good. If not then perhaps a swap is desirable.

The '45's are generally considered on par with DiMarzio Super Distortions of the day and are well regarded and I would not be in a hurry to replace them. If you do, hang on to them!

You can also do a "quick n dirty" check of the resistance to confirm:
If you get a full reading of around 11K you have a '45. If you're getting around 6K you have the wimpy UBC version.

Yes, we have no specific wiring diagram for the H-II but it's not hard to find a suitable one online at Seymour Duncan or Guitar Electronics. Also check out some of the other HH Westone models for guidance.

Have you seen the entry on our web site for the H-II ?

Here's a very recent post with someone asking the same question as you. It's the same wiring.
