Question regarding Westone Corsair Necks
Good Morning!
I've got a Matsimoku Westone Corsair, one of the very few covered in snake skin. I was wondering if it's possible to use other types of necks. More specifically, if I were to attempt to bolt on a San Dimas neck or a strat neck for example, I am sure the hole patterns are different. Has anybody in this forum ever tried anything like this?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Question regarding Westone Corsair Necks
G'day, there!
Nice catch - the snakeskin versions don't pop up too often!
Why would you want to change the neck? The neck on my Corsair is just fabulous?...
Anyway, the attachment screws are the least of your worries; you have width of the neck heel, angle of the tiltback of the neck and lastly, but most importantly, you have scale length to think about!
None of these issues are a game changer - though the scale length may give pause for thought - but then again, I've never changed a neck out!!

Re: Question regarding Westone Corsair Necks
I was wondering the same thing.
Is there a problem with your neck? (the guitar's that is, not the one attached to yer head!)
Westone necks from this era and earlier are among the finest commercial necks produced. The snakeskin model is also not too common and bit of a collector's item. So changing the neck would diminish any value it has.
Something to think about before you do something you might regret later.
