Post by Guest Tue Aug 18, 2009 4:56 pm

Hello Chaps! Smile

Just to let you all know...

Mummy is back! cheers

Did you miss me? Rolling Eyes Crying or Very sad

Sorry I have been conspicuous by my absence but I'm happy to report that all tiling of floors has been successfully completed, my friend has returned to London, the girly movies and tile cutters have all been put away until the next time and I'm back onboard, ready to keep you lot in order! Woo Hoo!

Now all I need to do is catch up with the large quantity of emails which are cluttering up my inbox! Yikes!
Wink

Yeah, I'll take a few snapshots for you to gawp at! The door is naked at the moment because I still have to put a coat of woodstain on, so bear that in mind when I show you the photo!

Hey, as the Moderator of you lot, I will have to give myself a severe talking to for going way off topic here!

Such a tease, our Polly, gone and done a bleedin' runner! Drops in, says "hi", promises naked doors, then leaves us hanging...or swinging...or dangling...or cyclops

Sorry chaps!

I haven't deserted you, I've just been laid up with an awful tooth abcess! I'm on antibiotics and have to go to get the offending molar yanked out next Thursday! Sorry for the delay in posting my photos but as you can imagine, I haven't been feeling up to doing anything these past few days!
pale

Give me a couple of days to pull myself together and you shall see my tiled and wooded floors as well as my naked door!

Owwwch, Polly!! Poor baby! pale
That's no fun at all, my sympathies. Get better quick!

Say ya know that hole that's left?
I read somewhere that ya could drop fill it with cyanoacrylate, then scrape it down with a razor and sand it with some 2000 grit....
But..that..would..be...wrong....wouldn't it? Embarassed

Hello chaps and thank you all for your concern. Hi honeys, I'm home! Icon_smile

Well, fingers crossed, I'm back up and running again, not sure about the gold tooth though!
Hi honeys, I'm home! Icon_biggrin

Actually guys, I would have been back long before now but for a sudden and unexpected disaster - my central heating boiler burst so I have been somewhat pre-occupied, as you can imagine.

Aside from all that, and despite the fact that I am sitting here with icicles hanging from my nose,
Hi honeys, I'm home! Icon_rendeer I thought I would put you all out of your misery and post the long awaited photo of my recent handiwork.

Hi honeys, I'm home! Floori10

Incidentally, I have since cleaned the excess tile adheshive off the door frame!

(Note to self: Posts pertaining to personal mishaps/achievements should be kept to a minimum and I must chastise myself severely for not adhering to the forum rules!

Hey,

Beautiful tile and door there.... best of luck with the molar - are you managing the pain effectively? That can be a real issue.

Welcome back Polly! (um, again).
And a nice job there!

I'm about to do something similar to a basement washroom that's been sitting in a "roughed in" state for 4 years now! i.e., capped plumbing, concrete floor, unfinished drywall, no ceiling and temporary lighting! (Won't be publishing pix of the finished item though)

p.s. And as advertised...a naked door! Twisted Evil

Great job Polly. Very impressive and I like the wood contrast. Very tasteful.

Central heating boilers, the bane of everymans life. Too complicated and need regular maintenance.

Glad to see you back!
