I can't provide a lot of information on this guitar but I have one exactly like the one in the photos on the site (the dual pickup one). The write-up at the top of the page says "With the exception of  numbers 3,  6, 8 and 10 all of these guitars seem to pre-date the 1981 launch of Westone guitars by Matsumoku." I can verify that regarding Unknown Model 4. Mine was purchased new and given to me by my Dad sometime between 1967 & 1969, so it definitely predated the Westones manufactured by Matsumonku starting in 1981.

Hope that is of some help. I'd love to know more about it but that's all I have at this point.

Hi Joe and thanks for that confirmation, it helps to define the time line a bit more.
It would be great if we could discover the actual model name/number of these unknowns one day.

When you're able to post pix we'd love to see your baby. Start a new thread in the Member's section. Wink

Will do. It's a little (read a lot) long in the tooth. I loaned it to a (former) friend when we graduated high school because his electric was on the fritz and he was playing at our graduation dance. I didn't get it back for over 5 years and it was much the worse for wear. I never got back my tube amp that I loaned with it.
At any rate, I plan on restoring it at some point but I'll post some current pics in the meantime.
Glad the timeline info is a help.
