Cheap Fret Shield
Back in the day, when I didn't have one but was too cheep to pay a silly price for one, I looked around for something else I could use. I was a draftsman for many years back in the 60's and 70's and it struck me one day that the fret shield looked an awful lot like my erasing shield.
Eureka!

Dollar store, 3 erasing shields for about $1. Slap some tape over the holes you don't use.
Done.
