Right. Don has sent me a set from a kit Tele he built some time ago, - thanks, bro!! - and the readings are just over 6KΩ for the bridge and 5.77KΩ for the neck. How do these stack up? Are they there or thereabouts??

Re: Telecaster pickups??
I don't have a "real" Telecaster, but my Vintage brand Tele with Wilkinson brand pups read
6.29KΩ and 5.45KΩ
Trevor Wilkinson claims these are based on the original specs obtained directly from Leo hisself.

More than I could tell you; I'll find out. Is there a difference in sound? Do they process the string vibration differently?

Re: Telecaster pickups??
I'm guessing Alnico since they're very close to mine.

Kit guitars usually have cheap pups, but who gives a flying,,,Barry wrote:I'm guessing Alnico since they're very close to mine.
Re: Telecaster pickups??
Just popped mine out to check em....52 AVRI was 7.3k at bridge 52 hot rod was 7.9k. at bridge...
52 neck was 7.1k and Hot rod was 6.4k off that Seymore duncan mini-hum....which I'm sure is no help whatsoever...
personally can't tell much of a difference between the two at the bridge...
hope it helps!

Not a kit, and not "cheap" at all Damian, and they're Alnico:

As I mentioned earlier, Trev Wilkinson has stated these were built to Leo Fender's specs. Apparently they had a good relationship.

Those Wilkinsons are very decent pups indeed.Barry wrote:Westbone wrote:

Re: Telecaster pickups??
Ah, yes. My error in reading the way was quoted.
Unusually rich looking finish on that Tele Damian.
And I think those compensated saddles are probably the best thing to happen to Teles since God invented the G string—which was chronically out of tune on the "classic" bridges.
