New to Forum and Westone guitars
Hi all I have acquired what I belive is a Westone Spectrum III. I have looked at the westone.info but would like to know more about the guitar, what year and stuff like that. Also what are the little transformer/inducer things on the tone controls. here are some pics. thanks for any help.

Re: New to Forum and Westone guitars
One of your photos looks like your camera reflected in the neck-plate; is there a serial number there or on the headstock? That will give us a date for the guitar.
Looks like a late model, hasn't lost the allen keys on the back of the head

there is no number on the back of the headstock, only the neck plate its 87 10 0297. the allen key holder was not on there when i got it. I had one so i installed it. I have 3 other guitars with floyd rose tremolos and those allen key holders are great.

Re: New to Forum and Westone guitars
It's an '87 and very likely one of the Korean built ones made immediately after Matsumoku shut up shop. Now, you realise that you have the wrong wang bar in there and I don't think the knobs are correct either, but otherwise it seems to be in pretty good nick for a 22 year old guitar!
Are 2 springs enough for tuning stability; hell, I use 4 on my Bendmaster guitars with 11's to stop the wobbles happening...
I asked what the wee thingys were on the back of the tone controls of my Genesis II and one of the blokes filled me in, but I'm buggered if I can remember what they are now; it was about 3 years ago on the other Westone forums when I asked; I'm sure Colt will know?
