Minnesota is markedly less funky now...
Hey all,
As some of you may have heard my home state lost a (if not THE) musical genius earlier last week, and in a coincidence which proves the stereotype, I have a number of personal memories of him, including a couple of occasions when I lucked out and he was in a mood to engage me in conversation.
I ran across this video on YouTube I am providing a link that for me embodies so much of his all around talents and gifts as a performer... as to me he was always a guitarist first, and did have a penchant for MIJ guitars, though AFAIK Westies never made it onstage.

Man, this has been a terrible year for musical losses, and it's only April!
I confess that I was not a Prince "fan" in the usual sense, except for his guitar playing which was stellar. But I was always aware of his being around, in spite of whatever music was current at the time.
Truly a gifted man with a huge devoted following. You were fortunate in meeting him.
