As seen in the '82 German catalogue.
Smaller baseplate. It's off an '81 Nov. guitar. The same bridge is used on the '81 Paduak pictured on the website.
Saddles are 10mm.

Interesting, my 84 1A has the smaller 10 mm saddles but the later back plate. Is this good, bad or just slightly odd?

Do all the holes(string) line up centered with the saddles?

It looks reasonably well centered and the strings aren't noticeably going off at angle to get in the body holes...

Old thread but thought I'd resurrect rather than starting a new one.

I have the more unusual of the two bridges (10mm saddles, three mounting screws). I've noticed that the top of the bridge (closest to pickup and not screwed down) does not fit tight against the body of the guitar (floats slightly depending on string tension). I suspect this is not great for tone.

I wonder if the later five screw bridge was chosen partly to address this.

I thought I might remove the bridge and drill/countersink two additional holes at the top corners to improve bridge contact with the body.
