Re: Bendmaster precision saddles needed
each of the saddles for the bendmaster deluxe is made for a specific position
in other words, each of the six saddles are different.
how many, or which one(s) do you need.
i have a black bendmaster deluxe that is only good for parts
i may have what you need

Re: Bendmaster precision saddles needed
The low E is the worst; severe pitting and seized screws.
I don't think the deluxe saddles will fit on the precision - please advise if I am wrong.
Thank you.

Re: Bendmaster precision saddles needed
Bendmaster Precision is the 2 post floating bridge without fine tuners or a stringlock associated with it that's found on the the likes of the Spectrum X185 GT; I'm surprised to see an X300 with one as they tended to be equipped with the Deluxe.
I agree with gittarasaurus... pics would be excellent! I've got a saddle or two lying around from a Hohner bridge that fit exactly as well as a couple of complete spare Deluxe bridges....

Re: Bendmaster precision saddles needed
All those saddles can be saved.
I'll post a picture reply tomorrow on how it can be done.

Re: Bendmaster precision saddles needed
Yep; you have a Bendmaster FT there, and nope, sorry; that's not a Precision - that's a Tekglide II from the ST. The Precision was like the FT but without the fine tuners...
have a look...

I agree with Damian; those saddles are eminently recoverable; take 'em to bits, clean 'em up a bit with a light bronze brush in a Dremel and then paint 'em!! I've done it a heap of times; easy-peasy!

Re: Bendmaster precision saddles needed
I'm away for a few more days than anticipated.
Soak them in thinners or white spirit in the meantime.
If thinners use a tin can.

Re: Bendmaster precision saddles needed
Looking at your saddles the grub screws are more than likely seized.
Clamp them in a vice at the angle shown as the first one is the hardest to remove. This angle will give you more movement to free it off.

Apply some heat on the saddle, not too much as the pot metal will melt. Leave the intonation screw in for more leverage. Try moving side to side. It WILL free off. Remove the grub screw from the bottom as the thread will be damaged from the vice.

I use a small brass wire brush to clean the saddle. This one pictured is 2 1/2" x 1/2" easy to work with on small items.

Clean them all up with the brush and very fine flatting paper.
Spray with satin black(2,3,4 coats, till your happy with the finish) and bake in the oven 200c for 1/2 an hour.
Yummy!!
New grub screws can be purchased they're 3mm x whatever the length is.
Hope that helps.

Re: Bendmaster precision saddles needed
Just an occasional visitor chipping in (but I did buy a bass from the Sarge recently), the collective knowledge and willingness to help on here is incredible!!
Top job guys, I'll know where to ask when I get round to sorting out a couple of my old Westones.

Bendmaster Saddles.
Does anyone know if the Bendmaster FT & Precision saddles are interchangeable? I recently purchased a Spectrum SX that is missing bottom 3 small strings saddles.
Thanks, Tony
