Odd design. Looks like it could easily fail down the road. Still prefer the Hercules mechanism. Mind you, it's twice the price!

Handling and using them in person, I can say that the mechanism is very simple and won't fail any quicker than the Hercules will. 
They're built sturdy, very solid.  I already installed 7 of them. 

I compared them to the Hercules (which I also have).  They're heavier and better build than the Hercules.  They also hold more securely than the Hercules.  They're originally around $40 each, but are being liquidating since they stopped production and Musicians Friend had a ton of them to unload. 

They're really nice guys, I was suspicious until I got them in hand.  Then I used them and ordered 3 more.  Great price for a great product.
