Westone Rail hard case?
Hello,
As the topic might imply, I have a Westone Rail bass and am trying to find a decent hard case for it. As far as I know no hard cases were made specifically for this but surely there is something out there that is a reasonably good fit? I have heard of folks using rifle cases and cases for Steinberger basses. I tried an inexpensive foam lined plastic rifle case but it seemed a bit shallow. Has anyone found a hard case that fits nicely? I don't object to adding a bit of extra padding but I'd rather something be a bit too large than a bit too small. Thanks!

Re: Westone Rail hard case?
I have also searched for a hard case to fit the rail Bass but have not seen anything that will give it a secure fit. I am fortunate enough to have the original gig bag with mine and that helps a bit. I had looked at the option of getting a local cabinet builder to make a custom style hard case much like a pool cue case but wider but that was too expensive. The other alternative I had looked at was a hard plastic Bow case. Best of luck with the search and enjoy the rail.

Re: Westone Rail hard case?
Thanks for the suggestions all. Eyebulger, do you suggest the Plano case because you have tried it and you know it has a good fit? And Westbone, how well does the steinberger case fit? Thanks!

Re: Westone Rail hard case?
I've no idea how it fit's but if a Steinberger xt, xl fits a Rail will.
There is no Rail hard case. You'll have to make do with what you find or make one.

Re: Westone Rail hard case?
I only suggested the Plano case as I use one for one of my rifles and know the they hold things in place very well. Would need to check the specs to see if there is enough length for what you need.

Re: Westone Rail hard case?
I have a Steinberger hard case that I keep whichever Rail I'm gigging with in. It's not a tight fit, but it so far has done its job. The width is right, but the case (or perhaps just the body cavity) is too long and not fitted at all, so the bass can slide a bit.
