Re: Westone Trevor Rabin Signature III Electric Guitar Red
What's going on at the end of the fingerboard?
Looks like bare wood????

Re: Westone Trevor Rabin Signature III Electric Guitar Red
The headstock is black lacquer, there is a small black plastic truss rod cover right past the nut/lockdowns. There is no bare wood.

Sorry, the neck is visible past the end of the fingerboard. It looks like if the fingerboard were extended to the end of the neck, it would have looked like a fret was missing, it maintains spacing that is in proportion between the frets at that point of the neck. That is my best guess.

Re: Westone Trevor Rabin Signature III Electric Guitar Red
I'd guess it's just the solution they choosed to combine a bayonet mounted neck with a painted body and a non-painted neck. Not the most elegant solution in my eyes, but still a solution.
EDIT: Just realized this is a bolt-on...well, I have no idea then.
EDIT2: It might make sense form an economic point of view...It would be much easier and cheaper for a factory to have one and the same neck for a bunch of guitars. With the neck-design we see here, they could use the same neck for bayonet-mounting as well as for bolt-on designs.

Does look slightly odd.
Not the best design. Maybe some prototype model???
The catalogue photos show the neck butted right up to the pickup. There again they have a painted neck and different controls.

Re: Westone Trevor Rabin Signature III Electric Guitar Red
Thanks for the brochure. I know there were differences between the Rabin II and III with the necks. I think the front photos are Rabin II's. Agreed not the best design. Could another owner of a Rabin III send a pic of their guitar?

They chopped and changed things as they liked.
'subject to change without notice'
According to the catalogue the black one is a III. Same pups as yours but 2 controls.
The red one(II) has twin h/buckers and a fixed bridge, no locking nut. 3 controls.
Many makers had pre-production models that went on sale. Who knows???

Re: Westone Trevor Rabin Signature III Electric Guitar Red
They are Korean, and most of the III's are bolt on's. Basically they are the evolution of the Pantera X300. Although, my TRIII by Alvarez has the bayonet neck join and the carved top and back, and the slash inlays instead of the dots - so more like the TR I with a different PUP/electronic config.
I've never played the bolt on version, but the set neck is very very nice.
I have no idea what is going on with the end of the neck for this TRIII - would like to see some closer pics to see what's going on. The neck looks original though.

Here is my TR III. It butts right up to the pup. And it needs to be dusted
