Thunder 1 T Bridge
Hello everybody, here's my first post!
I am thinking about getting a replacement tremelo bridge for my Thunder 1 T. When I got it the trem arm was snapped off in the bridge. Someone removed it for me a fitted a replacement arm, but it's always been a bit loose as I suspect the old arm was drilled out and the bridge retapped.
Will a strat type bridge bolt straight on? I gather the string pitch on the Thunder 1 is 10.5mm, so if I get one with the correct string pitch will it fit?
If not, what would be a suitable replacement?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Thunder 1 T Bridge
The relevant measurement is indeed about 10.5mm, but that is string separation, i.e. the distance between the centre of the strings as they sit on the saddle. One of the Thunder owners will, I'm sure, give us the proper measurement, but I replaced the severely munted bridge on my Electra Phoenix X195 (basically a Westone Spectrum) with a Wilkinson 5+1 which just screwed right in the original holes!

Re: Thunder 1 T Bridge
Hey now!
Pay no attention to those trolls behind the curtain Crumplezone. Their levers are not attached to anything.
As for the bridge, I have 2 Thunders but they're fixed type, not tremolos. The supplier of the original fixed bridge was Gotoh and they are still in business and still offering the same part ( GTC101 click for info). Unfortunately I do not see a trem version of it on their site.
That said, I suspect a Strat style unit would fit OK as long as the string spacing is 10.5 mm, not the North American version which is wider. I restored another Matsumoku guitar, an Aria Pro II, and I dropped in an inexpensive Strat trem clone without issues.
Damian may have something more specific for you. Oh, and welcome!

Thanks for the welcome and replies. I'll look into it next time I'm changing my strings. Could be a while!
