BASS - Active Bass Cabinet Wanted Empty Active Bass Cabinet Wanted

Post by grogg Fri Apr 18, 2014 2:23 pm

I have an EBS Drome combo (150W) but need an active cabinet to go with it for gigging as the drummer can get very loud then moans he cant hear me.

Preferably would like one of the EBS models like the AC300. Im open to other suggestions though.

Primarily used as a monitor so a 1x15" would be ideal to put right behind the drummers stool.

Drummers are blinking loud aren't they ? We've got two of the buggers and at times we were getting overwhelmed. Now all of us play via the P.A., Mrs Don (keyboards), the bassist and I plug straight in, our other guitarist plugs his Ovation straight in and plays his Les Paul using a mic'd up combo.

Alternatively you could get one of these:  Razz

 Head Bang

At a live gig, the bass player leans over to the drummer and says "Can't you play a little more dynamic?"

The drummer says "I'm already playing as loud as I can!"

What's the difference between a drum machine and a drummer?

You only have to punch the rhythm into a drum machine once   Very Happy

Back in the day, when we were down to just the two of us and trying to get the band reassembled, my buddy and I thought it would be a swell idea to practice using a drum machine.
Well... it was, how you say, ugly. Bart Moon   Barf 2
Bloody awful.
Like trying to make love to a department store mannequin.
Seemed like a good idea at first but just couldn't, um, get into it.

Do you run monitors for the rest of the band? At the last gig we did, we just daisy-chained an additional spare PA cab from one of the front monitors, stuck it on a stand & pointed it right at the drummer's head & he seemed happy (well as happy as he ever gets... Wink)

Sadly no, rarely room for such luxuries. I still like the idea of having another cab with the odd 350W extra grunt. Perhaps the drummer could use it to sit on.

I have had email exchange with the company but was told unlikely to find one in the UK.

Perhaps one of the Swedes out there could help me, EBS AC300.
