I used to have one of those.

Check out the push buttons. Also, it has a rosewood fingerboard.

Mine sounded pretty good.

This is only the 2nd one of these I have seen. I thought mine was unique because of the switches, but apparently not.

Pantera - Pantera X390 Empty Re: Pantera X390

hm,i can't tell you if it is "worth", as I never played an x390 so far. I can tell you that playing my x790 is very comfortable and I get always a little bit pissed when the band I'm in plays many 5-string-songs...

However I can tell you that I wouldn't buy it as the shipping costs 120 dollar plus taxes for the import to the UK.That would make something about 740 USD ( if I haven't terribly miscalculated and if I'd get it for 500 USD). Then, for originality-reasons I would restaurate the pickup and renew the wiring (and as I can't do that on my own, it would cause more costs). That means in the end I would perhaps have to spend about the same amount of money that I paid for the blue one (yes,I have to confess me guilty), and I think that would be a bit much...(I already think what I paid for the x390cb was very (perhaps too) much (I didn't expect someone apart form me to be crazy enough to give such a high bid^^), and that one is equipped with a kahler und has an ebony fretboard).

^ I give up, can someone explain why the format and text does this on this site? I've never had a problem posting pics on any other forum except this one. I understand uploading pics to a host to post them on THIS site. But what's up with the formatting? Emoticons dont work for me either.

Only the X350 and X390 have these features (heel-less set neck and concave/convex body).

I have owned a total of 4 X390s, 3 at one time.

I'm down to just one now.

I should not have sold them...but...I was weak.

Aside from the different construction, the X300 and the X390 have very similar neck profiles (width, thickness, fret size). I have owned both.

This profile is entirely different from the skinny neck Westone models
like the Prestige, Rainbow, and Thunder. I have owned examples of all of these.

The playing comfort of the wide/thick profile with giant frets has influenced me to sell most of my skinny neck guitars (like Jacksons and Charvels, Westone Prestige and Thunder) and start buying Warmoth 'Boat' necks for my customs.

I may have been a little faster on the skinny necks, but I would cramp quickly. I don't cramp with the thicker profiles.

Thick necks sound better too.

times are changing, prices are rising...you can't do anything about it. ok, this one isn't cheap. however it isn't the most expensive x390 that was sold this year and i guess that these guitars are worth these amounts of money as long as there are pleople who are prepared to pay these prices...

I've conversed with this guy or his brother in the past via email. He was pretty knowledgeable and a nice guy too.

He or his brother own a bunch of them. I think the price is pretty good if it's in as good of condition as he says it is. Although he said he'd never sell them so I guess he needs the money.

Remember these retailed for $1499 US back in 1986! If I had the money I might buy it - I've never had a white X-390 before!

It would be hard to buy a new guitar of this quality for twice this price today. They really are that good.
