Gas attack brought on by a Spector
Last Friday Myself, Duofuzz (or Dan) & my daughter were in Newcastle happily looking around shops and collecting guitar lesson flyers for Lucretia when i was struck down with uncontrollable G.A.S.
It happened outside a old secondhand shop in the city centre called Smokie Joes..
Looking through the window and into the shop i thought i saw a headstock of a guitar i had been after..
Went in an took a look to find it wasn't an then saw this hiding behind a load of affinity squires an cheaper generic type strat copies...
Its a Chinese made Spector Arc 6 pro trem guitar in i think slate grey stain...
the action was a mile high and the strings were best part dead but i thought i take a punt on her.
Asked how much he wanted an the nearly pooped myself badly on the spot...
The beer tokens were exchanged and i came out with this which has a very close design to a much loved Westone guitar model...????
this next picture might give a clue to which one i'm on about....
The spec list for this model is different:
25" scale length with 16" radius fingerboard
Two point trem
an Twin Tesla vr60 humbuckers as standard each with separate volume and tone controls..
I'm going to set 2 questions for fun..
Which Model Westone am I thinking it resembles ????
An how much do you think i paid for it???
Remember i'm in the uk so will take dollar as well as pounds foe answers...
Though Pete you know what i paid so no telling lol .....

Re: Gas attack brought on by a Spector
Those Spectors are nice. They're known for their basses over here in the States, and they do look bass-esque. That quilt is gorgeous! As for the Westone, you're thinking Pantera? And I'll wager you'd gotten her for an excellent price, so I'll guess 121?
How do you like the humbuckers?

The tesla VR 60's sound great Chad mate..
Very impressed as I love the Duncan 59's which are my normal goto replacment pickups..
The Teslas just seem to have a liitle more in them.
Bit more mids an a better responce and more harmonics..
They are low power vintage but hell there really good.
Might try another set in another project i have lying around..
The price is high but the models right mate..

To be honest, I think it resembles the cutlass more than the pantera, but that finish is delightful!

Re: Gas attack brought on by a Spector
I had a spector bass that I sold last year that had the same finish, active pups, carved back and gold harware. A very nice bass but has since been sold.
