Re: There's Lovely!! Prestige (sunburst) - eBay UK
Ian... would you be willing to collect it for me should I decide to take a swing at it?
Re: There's Lovely!! Prestige (sunburst) - eBay UK
Can't see too much of an issue with that, but am away for a week as from Fri pm so would have to be when I get back.
If I collect it does that equate to emotional abuse as it will be in my hands then I'd have to give it to you and most people on here say they'd never give one up once they got they're paws on one (even if it's technically/legally not theirs?)
Let me know if I can be of assistance and I'm sure we can work something out.

Re: There's Lovely!! Prestige (sunburst) - eBay UK
Seller refers to it as one of the last. Thats the older script logo with no bird and serial suggests 1982. Very nice, I think the script logo looks much classier. Good luck with this one, heres hoping ice.

And rising! Going up!
'82 was the only year 'gold' script logos were used and some very early '83's.
Not that this one has a gold logo.

Re: There's Lovely!! Prestige (sunburst) - eBay UK
You talking about the trc logo (cos I cant see it) or the headstock ?
Was thinking of redoing my trc but wanted it to be as original, you got a shot of yours Damian?

That's nice. I need one of those guitars. Whether I can stretch to to one, financially, is another matter... If anyone's looking to offload a Prestige, at any time in the future - I'm interested! I have some money and several guitars that may be of interest..

Was talking of all logos(headstock) on '82 models. Not Prestige though.
But here goes, trc.
It appears there are 3 styles of trc logos, have a look at the catalogues.

Re: There's Lovely!! Prestige (sunburst) - eBay UK
Asked the seller to post some better pictures, see what happens?
It's not a very good shot at all on ebay.
Interesting to see what it goes for, might have a bid myself. Just up the road.

Go ahead Damian. I can smell this one heating up before it's all over and the shipping will not help matters for me.
Thanks for your kindle offer of assistance Ian. Don't hesitate to drop me a line if I can ever return the offer.

Gee thanks Ice! 'might' have a bid.
Sniff a modicum of disappointment there.
This will probably soar.

Perhaps Damian or Graham would be kind enough to post some of those magic "Westone Prestige 'n Rainbow" beans over to us poor chaps in the Colonies some day?

If I was you ice I'd definitely take up that offer. If it works out then the bragging rights in the colonies would be worth the purchase price.

I did think about it but I had a feeling it was going to go mad. I wonder how high this would have gone if the seller was willing to ship.
Looks like they are heading beyond the reach of mere mortals.

I think you're right
I have a personal preference for the darker 'tobacco/vintage cremona/antique violin' sunbursts but am aware I am in the minority
and I was kidding - gonna be playing her this weekend

What? That's more than some 390's or 350's go for! Bizarre. They are nice though and beautiful.

I also prefare the Antique Brown Sunburst but beggars can't be choosers
Re: There's Lovely!! Prestige (sunburst) - eBay UK
I like a brown sunburst although I think there is no mention of it in the catalogues. Someone here but can't remember who, inherited one from his father. I would have loved some pictures of it taken outside in broad daylight. Think it looked absolutely gorgeous.

No not what I mean. That is known as ABS Antique Brown Sunburst if you look at the Prestige 150 beside it in the catalogue there it was available in BS Brown Sunburst while it isn't mentioned as an option for the 250. I like the 250 in BS Brown Sunburst maybe more and think they exist, though only few!
I was referring to xbarnesx's here (but I know of at least one other): http://forum.westoneguitars.net/t3206-my-prestige-250-finally
I also noticed it has the 'script' style logo and there is no mention of a BS finish for even the 150 in the 82/83 catalogue ! The Antique Brown finish sure does look really very nice too I'll have to admit! The one in Mike's, gittarasaurus pic has an awfully gorgeous nice flamed top but it's not his I can tell for he makes much nicer photographs, often in broad daylight!
The weather is about the same here Arthur and that chilly northeast wind is getting very anoying! Even migrating birds were so shocked when they arrived they flew back to Africa. No birdsongs

I know how you feel. Once I checked the current value of my '64 Gibson which I happily used to gig with, I mostly leave it in her case now.westcoaster wrote:Bloody scared to touch it now.
Daft I know, but even at home I reach for any one of the other (cheaper) 28 guitars before I take her out. Really buggers up your approach to the guitar.

Shameful as that is Damian I can assure you it is not the worse feeling one could muster when a perfect guitar has an accident. At least that misfortune was visited upon one of your guitars and not your wife's.
Nearly ended up in Sofa City for an extended stay...
That is one dog house that takes some time to escape, let me tell you.
Re: There's Lovely!! Prestige (sunburst) - eBay UK
They are built like tanks though. Back in the dim and distant past I dropped a p250 (tobacco burst) off a 4 ft high stage. If I remember rightly this resulted in a very small ding on the headstock.
I sold that guitar in Glasgow around 1990in a no longer existing guitar shop. Don't suppose anyone knows its whereabouts now. Much as I love the one I've got, the tobacco burst is nicer looking than the Cremona.

But not the time, as we're 'tarting' up the house and moving on.
Can't live in this shiite area called London any more, turning into a slum around here.
Let the fookers have it. What a fook up! Thanks Gov.co.uk
That's my little moan...
