I was going to put them on eBay and try to get the highest price I could for them. But you guys have been so helpful, I thought I'd let you have first shot at 'em.

I have more than 50 guitars now...and some of 'em purchased with money borrowed from "the family". If I don't pay the money back, my wife is going to break my legs, and all my fingers.
Plus I added it all up, and I only have room to store 39 guitars.

So I have to raise some cash to pay for the two Pantera X390s I got over the last 2 months, and then I need to cover what I paid TVill for the X300 and the Alvarez Graphite...

...plus, I've just discovered how severely UNDER priced Yamaha guitars are. I got a neck-through professional quality Yamaha RGX 1212 for under $500 that makes my X390s stay in their cases, and another bolt-on Pacifica 1221 for $350 that is bested only by the X390s, the X300 I got from TVill, and my old favorite yellow Challenger.

So I've been grabbing a few other Yamahas for even cheaper. Just got back from making a parking lot deal for a Pacifica 521 for $100. I mainly did it to get a neck for a Pacifica 821 body I just got on eBay 2 days ago for $99. So I'm going to end up with a professional quality superstrat for less than $200...

With all these great guitars I have now, I don't need some of these project guitars. It busts up my "1989" collection, where I had 2/3 of the 1989 models, but that's no big loss. And the Vantages are fine guitars, but just don't make the cut compared to the guitars I'm keeping.

So this whole list is just guitars I had for the sake of collecting, not because I loved them so much I had to keep them around.

Bottom line is, I've recently acquired so many awesome guitars that I was able to raise my minimum standard for "keepers" significantly.

Good thing you're throwing your opinion about Vantages around this site.

I have a Vantage X-77 that will not leave my possession.

So I understand the Vantage love. I just don't have it for the rest of the specific Vantages in my possession.

...hmm, maybe I'll go over there and see what kind of fury I can raise up?

You've got 2 x390's now? When? How? Which?

About 2 months ago I got the PW X390 that was on eBay for about $500. It has the damaged/repaired headstock crack.

I actually got it because I didn't look closely at the pics and couldn't believe an X390 had bids only up to $300 or so, so I bid about $500, and then forgot about it. When I won, I nearly had a heart attack, because there was NO WAY I just got an X390 for less than $600!!!

...and then I looked closer at the pictures and saw the headstock split.

The repair is solid, but after arriving I found that it has electronics problems, too. It puts out about 1% of the normal sound. I haven't started working on it yet, because its not like it will get worse, and the lure of acquiring other guitars has always been more fun that working on guitars I already have. Not to mention, playing the working guitars is also more fun that working on the less-functional guitars.

Then a little over a month ago I got the CB X390 off of eBay for $850 shipped via a BIN.

For x300s, I have a Cherry Red that TVill just sold me, and then I had one that I got for less than $100 almost 2 years ago now that has electronics problems (did I mention I procrastinate in trying to fix those?), the HB replaced with an EMG, and extremely cheesy blue flames painted on it. I love it because it is pretty much unlovable. But it actually plays pretty well when the electronics feel like working, and you are extremely careful not to bump any of the knobs/switches.

1% output... Have you taken any cursory output readings on the pups yet?

I just mean that they aren't dead, but they are so quiet I can only hear them if I turn the amp up to 11.

maybe you need to turn your guitar up to 11
