Spectrum II

I bought a new Spectrum II (WE2500BK) in or around 1990. It's barely used. I pulled it out recently, as I'm planning to sell it. The volume doesn't work right. It's sort of like it has a short in it, and there may be other electrical issues. It came with a lifetime limited warranty, although I'm not sure if I ever registered it, and if I did, I don't have the Westone Warranty card. I think I still have the sales receipt. Anyone know if I can get it repaired for free? I understand St. Louis Music Supply Co no longer owns them. Any repair advice? I'm not wanting to sink a lot of money into it.

Could be all you need is a can of contact cleaner like Servisol Super10, apply to the switch and pots, then fully dial the knobs all the way each way, same with the switch.

Or...it could be something completely different...a loose connection or damaged switch/pots or...or...or....

9 times out of 10 it's oxidized contacts.

I took it to a Guitar Center in the area yesterday. The guy gave it a shot or two of DeoxIT DN5 in both pots and that did the trick. Thank you!
