Its eminently recoverable, eh - bit of sanding and away you go!! Missing the usual bits - stringlocks, knobs and pickups, but nothing terminal!!!

Looks like they gutted all the electronics out so that will be a bit of work to replace but I agree that the refinish is poor and should sand off easy and allow for a good refinish. Headstock will need new logo but it is a worthy project for certain.

One thing I don't like is when the headstock shape is altered - it could probably be added backdepending on how much was cut off - tough to tell from the pic
