Re: thunder ii bridge pickup
Hello Kendow,
Welcome!
I am not the most knowledgeable one on here when it comes to electronics, far from it.
However, you must do several things first before ascertaining that the pickup is dead:
- post pics of your guitar (you will be able to do this in 2 days, or maybe someone here will help);
- double-check the wiring to make sure all the solders are still there and all;
- Spraying some electronics cleaner in the pots might help (maybe?);
- Testing the pup with a multimeter, if you have not already done so.
I hope I haven't forgotten anything. If so, surely someone will add to the list.

Re: thunder ii bridge pickup
I've never heard of one of these pickups failing before, I'd check the pickup switch before suspecting the pickup. Can you get a reading of the pickup resistance from between the back of the relevant switch terminal and earth?

Yup, make sure you've done a thorough trouble shooting before trashing the pickup. These are worth keeping and difficult to replace.
Because of the age of these instruments, very often it's something simple causing problems. Pictures are needed as there are 3 different versions of this bass: LINK TO WEB SITE
Oh, and some punctuation would help too. Very hard to read your message properly.

Re: thunder ii bridge pickup
I've had a "jazz bass" style pickup fail on a Thunder II. They're a stacked humbucker with PEQ controls.
Conked in with the inner windings corroded.

Re: thunder ii bridge pickup
Is it an active or passive bass? (83 model could be either)
