Active - Thunder 1A Bass Active Circuit problem Empty Thunder 1A Bass Active Circuit problem

Post by moncur Sat Nov 19, 2011 7:33 am

Hi folks, this is my first post so please be gentle!

I just received my Thunder 1A bass from an ebay seller today, looks lovely, plays like butter etc etc.

However, when going from passive to active, I get no sound at all.
Naturally I changed the batteries as I figured the old ones must be dead, the ones I put into my new bass came from my other Thunder 1A which I was playing using the active circuit the other day, so the batteries in the new bass are good to go.

Anybody got any simple things that I should be looking for before I put it to my local Westone guru?

Cheers for reading this, Richard Smile

Get some switch cleaner down the switch(obviously) not WD 40.
Sometimes the components on the circuitboard get pushed against each other and short out.

At least you have another to compare with.

Yep... welcome! Now pix.... Laughing Laughing

I'm betting this will be a simple fix; just a matter of being slow and steady and eliminating one thing after another; we're here to help, man!!

The only reason I dont want to play the other Bass is because I got Duff McKagan to sign it and I dont really want to be carrying that to gigs just incase it gets half-inched.

Hopefully it is something simple, will try the switch cleaner this week Smile
