I really want to make a Hentor Sportscaster from scratch for those who are Alex Lifeson fans.

But, would anyone here be interested in this as the next project:
It was brought up on an older post and I think corsair drooled over the guitar. Not sure I would need 2 12 string electrics but would love to make it.

spectrum 12

thoughts?

anyone got a spectrum body for real cheap? I see a few on ebay, but more than I would like to spend. If I do this project, I will be making a neck from scratch - which I have never done before so , I may make my Sportcaster first to get some experience and then do this, but it would be cool to have a 12 like Rabin's

+ 2!!! If you could somehow duplicate that headstock, that would be amazing as well. Great looking design.

So our answer is "YES", do it.

... get it... "YES"?! Laughing cheers Oh man, I thought it was funny anyhow. :joker:

Nah !

Don't do it. One twelve string electric is enough for anyone. I think that you should build a guitar from scratch and then you can pass loads of tips to the rest of us.

I like 12 strings so a second would be good. It would be my first attempt at building a neck, and possibly build the body from scratch unless I could find a real cheap one somewhere. If that the case, I may be asking for a nice outline of a spectrum to make a template out of Smile

As Chad says, handling the headstock would be the real challenge on this one. Not so sure than 6 tuners on the butt end would look right on this body design.
Perhaps you could squeeze 6 small head tuners like on the Vantage VA912? Somehow? No idea at this point. geek

If I do it, I will make the neck so it would look like the Rabin model - i don;t think the six tuner idea would look good on the body either.

John - Ive seen those ones for sale for a while now. I think if he came down on the price a might do one of those, but we'll see if something on the cheap comes up.

A tall order indeed my friend! The most outstanding feature of the Spec's is the neck. If you're duplicating one it'll be a right challenge to match the compound radii and feel of an original. Best o' British (and Canadian) luck with that! Laughing
