Deep lyrical content
Every once in a while a song just grabs me for the sheer genius of its lyrics.
A song like this...

Make me fries! (Potato wave)
So utterly incomprehensible, but strangely entertaining.

Re: Deep lyrical content
Ha! The tune itself is actually really nice... just that it is so difficult to parse what Mr. Vedder is actually saying. The guitar work is quite yummy. Apologies to any Pearl Jam fans. :joker:

Re: Deep lyrical content
I confess that in my days as a front man for my band I would occasionally blow the lyrics and mumble. But intelligently, and on key!anaerobe wrote:...it is so difficult to parse what Mr. Vedder is actually saying...
That was on the odd verse or phrase...not the whole freakin' song!
At the risk of kick starting another thread topic, I do find it amazing to me that so many "singers" are incomprehensible. Maybe it's my ears or sumpthin' but I've never been able to follow guys like Steven Page ex of the Bare Naked Ladies. About half of what comes out of his mouth is a mystery to me unless I look up the lyrics. I'd even throw Bruce Springsteen in there too, particularly his solo acoustic stuff which you would expect to be clean articulate.
Oh, and let us not forget The Kingsmen's classic mutter feast, "Louie, Louie!

Right! To be fair, I think Vedder at this point in his career looks back with some humour at the way he sang 20 years ago. If you want a real treat check this out:

I think this is a tremendous cover.
