Wanted Concord 1 for bastardisation
Only just discovered that Concord 1 is short scale so I want one. Does anyone have a really rough example in the UK cause I have a plan..... and here it is.
I am going to put on a telecaster bridge/tail piece with a genuine hot fender pickup at the rear. I might stick on a lip stick pickup or a P90 on the front.
A rosewood board would be best as I don't really like maple boards
I will refinish it in Daphne Blue and then I will give it a thorough thrashing.
I know that it is sacrilege but I don't really care as it will be mine!
Only a rough example required at pocket money prices.

Re: Wanted Concord 1 for bastardisation
OK Grahmo, all Concord I's are maple boards, unfortunately. Not all that keen on those myself.
Don't see all that many r'wood one's even on the 2's or 3's.
If I come upon any I'll give you a yell.
You won't find the short scale though in r'wood. Unless you adapt something.
Keep on plukin', burp!!
Good health, cheers.
See you at the pub, drinks on Icebaby

Yup Damo!!
An idea fuelled totally by the consumption of alcohol, but it will occur!!
Anyway - What's with the Grahamo - that doesn't work - whereas Damo fits to perfection.
Get the drink up Ice!!

Re: Wanted Concord 1 for bastardisation
The sh*t's hitting the fan around here, just around the corner, bit quieter tonight though.
Like rats breeding and running everywhere. Hitting all the mobile shops first. Don't think they realize as soon as they try to use them they'll be blocked. Bloody carnage, Twats.
Went to collect a guitar today in Streatham, no traffic, straight thought Lewisham, was 10am though. Best drive around there in years. Back in about 2 hours, usually takes about 4.
Cheers Grahmo, good health.
P.S. the Thunders are only 24 3/4", plenty of them. Just make a scratchplate. Bastadize it!!!

That's bad news Damian
I really think that we have bred an underclass in our society and I am by no means right wing ... but I feel that the biggest lesson in life is that success is directly proportional to effort.
There are too many who "did not ask to be born" and expect the rest of us to pay for them.
Look at the Poles in the UK. I have a lot of experience in dealing with them as I rent furnished flats as a business. The Poles in this country, are educated, respectful, driven and mannerly. They want to achieve by their own efforts.
Too many of our young people are ignorant, lazy, and can't be bothered to better themselves.
Well - Let's hope that benefits are cut and they are forced to join the real world.
A little bit of politics - but it is important.

Yep, at least the Sheiks are on the streets guarding and protecting their property.
It's a lot worse than you see on the news.
Political correctness gone fuc'ing crazy. Do the scum. Do 'king something.

Anything for sale just now Damian
It's got to be old, Japanese and preferably Matsumoku.
Nothing pointy, Superstraty, Korean, Weird, Quirky, Cheap, Rare, Early thin Tiesco plywood with tin bridge, Allegedly made in Japan early pre-production tat.
Just good old Japanese wood - like the radar mast on the Yamato.

Re: Wanted Concord 1 for bastardisation
Had throngs of dummies raging at the Wisconsin (yeah, I said Wisconsin) State Fair of all places.
Yeah, friggin' WISCONSIN!!!!!
No corner on that market you have over on that side of the pond, Graham.
Hearing worries more and more 'round the larger cities here over these mobs. Rather too organized to even use the term mob thanks to........ wait for it............. Social Networking!!
Thank goodness for a rural homestead away from those possible hotspots.
A nice 100+ yard clear field of fire isn't the worst thing either.

Re: Wanted Concord 1 for bastardisation
We're seeing some of the sheer idiocy happening across the UK, too... I don't suppose it'd be happening if they had work to go to in the morning, eh! There's not too many placeswhere this sort of underclass isn't bubbling up, even NZ has it happening, and short of suspending a few civil liberties and whaling on these dickheads, I'm not sure it's going to stop!
It was heartening to see citizens in London steeping up to clean up and to guard what they held dear, though - maybe the worm is turning?!

Re: Wanted Concord 1 for bastardisation
I'm sick of the finger pointing and blame. White people blame the Asian and African-Caribbean community , African-Caribbean community blame the police, Upper classes blame the unemployed, The unemployed blame immigrants for taking jobs and everybody blames the government.
I hope the riots will be a wake up call for the UK government and they will finally spend more time sorting the UK out and be a little less concerned about problems in other countries....
I worry for my children.... Great Britain does not seem so great at the moment

Right there; there's far too much of this meddling in other countries affairs when I'd've thought there's much more immediate problems facing just about every other so-called 'first world' countries....
The UK got it wrong in the 60's and 70's and the citizens are now paying the rather steep price for the social ills that now face it; and they're not the only ones. Unfortunately, time has shown that incumbent governments lack the nerve to do anything that will adversely affect them at the polls, and in the UK's case, I fear there is not the sort of leadership required to make such changes as obviously need to be made.

Re: Wanted Concord 1 for bastardisation
Well stated John and precisely on point.
You also perfectly described the situation over here except for one detail....
I do not fear...... I know.

Great idea for a project. Carving up a Concord could only make it look BETTER! Everyone's entitled to their opinion, right?

Re: Wanted Concord 1 for bastardisation
Thanks guys for the listings but I need it to be a UK guitar or it will be too expensive. Ideally, an old dog, available locally, but certainly within UK.

That's in your backyard, I didn't even think of that when I saw it! It's a black one, the guy wants $120 for the guitar alone.

I want it bad, but I dunno if it's a good idea with how tight money has been. Decisions, decisions. Has the earlier pickguard that I prefer, too...
